In the last number of weeks, my Intel MacBook Pro 15″ 2018 running macOS Ventura 13.2.1 has in fact been requesting its local password for using iCloud, which I think has in fact taken place in the past, nevertheless absolutely not with this frequency: numerous times a week, almost daily.
This appears in a notification, which opens the System Settings app and ask for my password, and after that the action item disappears from the left menu of System Settings, together with the notification. It does not look like any sort of rip-off.
Is something poorly established on my end, or merely a new boneheaded policy from Apple to train users on frequently typing their passwords to get rid of informs, ensuring they fall hook line and sinker for rip-offs in the future?
